Today I came to work earlier than usual. As the first order of my day is checking my emails, imagine my surprise when this letter from Nang, one of my US-based sisters, greeted me. More than anything, it reminded me to thank God for my thoughtful siblings:
Kamusta ka na? I just want you to know that I am so grateful for your time, money and effort when you came here last year to take care of me after my surgery. You ar
e such a generous and compassionate sister. Everyone should have a sis like you. As a token of my appreciation, I have decided to buy you a Mac Book Air! Really! Today is your lucky day!!!! (emphasis mine–BA)
Seriously, everything I said above is true…well, except for the part that says that I’m buying you a Mac Book Air (-: Happy April Fools Day (-:
. . . wait, let me edit the last few words of my first paragraph to read “thoughtful and FUNNY siblings!”
For a second, my hope of having the latest Apple product was up. And then, a scroll down later, it vanished in thin (mac book) air. But nonetheless, the letter still made my day. Kind words can make me just as glad.

Ohhh man! My heart skipped a beat. Kainis hehehe. You got punk’d! Hahaha. But it was a sweet gesture indeed.
Imagine my excitement when I read the words “mac book air” in the first paragraph. In the email of my sis, there was a huge space between this good news and the PS about it being a joke. But oks na din nga sa akin ang words of encouragement.
toink. aawitan ko pa man din sana ang laptop mo. hehehe.
You can sing to my laptop, as long as it’s an April Boy Regino song. Like, “O giliw ko, miss na miss kita–ah!” (PS: Kasi nga laptop ko si Aprilboi.) Seriously now, maybe you can buy a laptop when you go to the US. It’s cheaper there. By faith, I know you’ll get there.
mac book air? parang Nike Air
…another one of those gizmoes that make my head itchy all over. But words of love and encouragement always tops my list of soul gifts! Maski na it is said on April Fool’s Day. I once told my my husband (when we were still “on” or sweethearts) that I was through with him. I really meant it then! The way God (however) made me time it was on April Fool’s Day
. I was not aware of the date though but my husband was. And that made him persist on getting me back. The April Fool was on me! ha-ha! No regrets though
.
she’s got the sense of humor, ate… no doubt about it ;p
Well, she fooled me too!! Kala ko naman high flying ka na pagbalik ko..as in a car, and then a Macbook Air..di na mareach..;) Hehe.
ay! sayang! kala ko mac na tayo pareho! :- (
Hi Ate Bernadette, Macbook air and Nike air both sound like great products (never had the chance to own any of them). But I guess the similarity ends with the word air, hehe. That’s a good April fool’s day anecdote you shared. Hurray to your husband for his persistence and his belief that you were “joking” about what you initially said.
Yup, Daph. The sister has got a crazy sense of humor. What made this prank believable at first was the fact that she hasn’t been emailing me for quite some time now. And then this!
haha, oh well. OK lang, di naman maganda yang MacBook Air na yan eh. (sour-graping here, haha).
Hi Gypsy, sobrang reachable pa din ako. Dahil for sure pagbalik mo, nag-kocommute pa din ako at si Aprilboi pa din ang laptop ko.
Hi Jen, don’t stop dreaming for me, though. Maybe if I am finally convinced that mac is the better computer, I’d switch to it. When will it happen? Hmmm, sometime within this lifetime.
kakalokah!
hehe.kala ko mapapalitan na si april boy on april fool’s day. naloka ko sa sister mo.:-)
Hi Beng!
Old news na ‘tong post … April 1 pa!
I miss your full-of-light-and-heart writing.
If you have time, hah … post again. ^_^
Hi Carla, right!
Hi Mommy G, yeah, perfect timing sana no? Pero oks lang, Aprilboi is still doing OK and won’t get replaced until it gets broken or if I decide to give it to somebody else.
Hi Karen, Salamat for wanting to read something new from this blog. I have unfinished posts waiting for the right time to be published. Hope I didn’t disappoint you with my turon post.
