Two tags

Guilty, your honor! Of being delinquent in answering the tags of some friends (In fact I have a couple of tags from looong ago I haven’t answered…yet.) For now, let me address the two most recent ones.

Tag 1 from Gypsy: My desktop

desktop.jpg

“Everybody lies,”so goes the mantra of Dr Gregory House of Princeton-Plainsborough hospital. But more than lying, his problem is he’s too honest–to a fault and to the detriment of the people around him. So the pair of band-aids, that’s just the easiest way to keep him from digging himself into a deeper hole.

I’m a fan of the show, so the wallpaper. But I change my laptop look more often than my appearance so this (the wallpaper) will probably last me a week, or two at most.

*Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun.

You can do a screen capture by:

  1. Going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).
  2. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V).
  3. If you wish, you can edit the image, before saving it.

For MAC users: Press [ Apple] [ Ctrl ] [ Shift ] and [ 3 ]

* Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.

* Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well. (See answer to number 38 at the bottom)

Beng? You? Sarcastic? Naaa….but I think you should stop watching too much of House if that is what’s its doing to you, hehe. I havent done any movie watching since I came, imagine mo, cheapest is about P300 plus!! Huhuhu….

Hi Gypsy, me give up House MD? I will need Vicodin to help me cope with the withdrawal symptoms! (Vicodin painkillers being House’s snack of choice) 300 for a movie?! Ang mahal nga! If you were here, we could have a decent meal plus the movie with the same amount! Can’t wait for when you’ll be back. We can make up for all the movies you missed!

  2. snglguy says:

Heh, my Mom also like House MD. I used to follow the series, but I got tired of his sarcasrm, oops… sarcastic din pala ako, hehe. 😀

Is “No Reservations” that good? Haven’t seen it eh… 😀

Hi Snglguy, aba, your mom’s choice is great! As for you, it’s a shame you gave up on House. Is the principle “Ang magnanakaw galit sa kapwa magnanakaw” operating here?;-) hehe, peace tayo! No Reservations is OK. It’s more about Catherine’s character’s independence issues and relationship with her niece than it is about cooking and romance.

  3. carlotta says:

waah pinakainaabangan ko ang no reservations since the beginning of this year nung nabasa ko yung lineup of movies for this year pero ano? hindi ko rin napanood sa sinehan 😦 buti na lang me dvd hahaha 😀

Hi Carlotta, well at least nga may DVD no so we could catch up on movies we’ve missed. It’s not one of those movies naman that you definitely need to watch on the big screen to enhance appreciation, in same way like hmm…transformers? (yung grabe yung special effects)

  4. jen says:

i love House… galing ng quips though kainis na kaawa din sya! buti na lang at may endearing moments sya 🙂

Hi Jen, siguro kaya friends tayo nina Gina, we like much the same things! House’s “house-isms” are priceless. But you should really stop me if I start speaking like him, in real life. haha.

  5. i can’t imagine having those eyes stare back at me each time i turn on my computer! even with a gagged mouth, his expression reeks of sarcasm and scorn. great actor. whoever write’s his lines on the show – now, there’s a genius too.

Hi Aleks, those eyes needed some getting used to at first. hehe. House’s character is just brilliant. His anti-hero attitude just adds to his charm, in a twisted kind of way. Hugh Laurie, in real life, is a brilliant man too. One of his friends call him “Gifto.” Apparently he can play the piano and write a novel too, among many other talents. His humor is classic too. I read his recent interview where his unforgettable line was “I am not pregnant.”

  6. Swipe says:

I am House. from the way that he thinks he’s always right to the smart alecky comebacks to the grouchiness and even the the too honest part. Except I’m not a doctor and I’m not always right.

I know one person who can confirm or deny this fact about you, Swipe. 🙂 And I will be seeing her tomorrow. Maybe one other thing that’s the same about you and Dr House is that your names start with the same letter.

  7. verns says:

I love Dr. House hehe always flexing his sarcasm muscles hehe Can’t wait to see the new season..gusto ko tuloy-tuloy hehe 🙂

So this only proves I am not the only woman who can appreciate Dr House. Hehe. Though I am not sure if I’d want him to be my doctor–he would probably break my heart on his way to helping me recover. 🙂

  8. Rae says:

    Beng,
I used to watch House all the time but his sarcasm is so unreal. No doctor can get away with that here in America. That’s why it is just a show. He would have been fired after 3 episodes if there is a real doctor like that. Anyway, Beng the real reason why I logged in your blog is to ask for the recipe of Sotanghon. Our friends are coming over for Thanksgiving and I would like to cook that. Can you give it to me by Monday or Tuesday? You can directly e-mail me at Rcostanilla@theduponthospital.com or I can check aback again in your blog. Also is there a substitue for tengga ng daga? I’m not sure we have that here and even if we do, I hate to say when asked what that black thing is…”It’s a rat’s ear”. I don’t think that will fly very well. Or I could say that so my family could have all the sotanghon we want and have some left over. Damot eh no? Anyway, thanks in advance.

Hi Rae, natawa ako nung nabasa ko yung comment mo, hehe. On House, I watch the show because I’m learning a lot, about diseases, procedures etc. Dati Grey’s Anatomy pero mas challenging ang cases sa House. Yeah, I don’t think a doctor like him will stay employed in any hospital. Malpractice lawsuits ang katapat niya.
As for the recipe, yup, I will email it to you and call you to explain the directions. 🙂

  9. Ruben says:

Hmmm, my desktop wallpaper is pretty boring right now but I’ll see if I can show it anyway. 🙂

Oks lang yun. Sagutin ko din yung questions ha!

  10. Swipe says:

hahaha! I have been told that is has been confirmed with some additional details.

So nakarating na pala sa iyo! 🙂 If my friend G chose you to be her friend, then you must be a good person too, your House-istic tendencies aside.
